Target Audience: Pitt Dept. of Chemistry; graduate students, undergraduates working in research labs, post-doctorial fellows, visiting scientists, and staff researchers.
Description: This training includes general lab safety, using engineering controls and personal protective equipment, chemical storage and disposal, and emergency response procedures.
Training Requirements: Training must be completed prior to working in a Dept. of Chemistry laboratory.
Lives Sessions: Chemistry students are expected to attend the Chemistry Department's live training session offered each semester. Contact the Chemistry Department for training dates and times.
Online Training: Online Lab Safety for Chemistry Students is offered as an alternative to those who could not attend the live session. The online training is approximately 2 hours in duration.
